Laser
Laser Genesis
A proprietary technology by Cutera, Laser Genesis is a non-invasive treatment which delivers micro-pulses of laser energy, heating the upper dermis to stimulate collagen production. Over time it softens the appearance of redness, fine lines, pores and improves skin texture. It can also be used to improve the appearance of red scars. Initially 4-6 sessions are performed every 3-5 weeks, and then a maintenance schedule may be required, depending on your unique concerns.
Laser Genesis treatment is safe for patients of any skin phototype, including darker skin tones. The treatment feels warm and most patients find the experience relaxing. There is no downtime with this procedure, other than transient redness that may last an hour or so. Makeup can be applied if required after treatment and patients can resume their normal activities following treatment.
Cutera Excel V+ Vascular and Pigment Laser
The industry gold standard dual wavelength (532nm and 1064nm) laser used to treat both vascular and pigment concerns including:
- Diffuse facial redness from rosacea
- Diffuse redness on the neck and chest due to chronic sun exposure (Poikiloderma of Civatte)
- Treating visibly enlarged capillaries and broken blood vessels on the face
- Venous lakes on the lip
- Port Wine Stains
- Spider naevi
- Cherry angiomas (Campbell de Morgan spots)
- Treatment of red scars
- Pigmentation (lentigines) on the face, hands and chest
Cutera Excel V+ is a precise, powerful technology. Depending on the concern that is treated, Excel V+ laser involves an element of discomfort during the procedure, which is alleviated by the inbuilt cooling of the laser system. Following vascular laser, temporary redness and swelling are to be expected, lasting 1-3 days. Following pigmentation treatment, the areas look darker and develop superficial brown crusting that takes 1-2 weeks to resolve. Sun protection following laser treatment is essential.
